Unclaimed dividends in Nigeria

Africa Prudential: claiming unclaimed dividends

Africa Prudential Plc is a share registrar: it keeps the register of shareholders for the companies that appoint it, and pays their dividends. If the SEC's search names it as holding your account, this is how to reach it.

note Its site also links an "unclaimed dividend finder" run by a third party. We do not link it: the SEC's own search, above, answers the same question.

How to claim

  1. Confirm it is Africa Prudential: search the SEC's Non-Mandated Dividends Search ↗ by first name and surname. A result names the company and the registrar holding the account. It does not tell you an amount.
  2. Fill Africa Prudential's e-dividend mandate — its self-service page, for updating details, dematerialisation and probate ↗. Its site also sends mandates to NIBSS's e-dividend mandate service ↗.
  3. Submit it through your bank or the registrar, as the SEC's guidance ↗ says. That is what starts the payments coming to you directly.
  4. If you are told the dividends are too old, the SEC's circular of 5 June 2025 directs companies and registrars to keep honouring claims: cite it by name and date.

Check any firm on the SEC's register of licensed operators ↗ before giving it your details, and never pay anyone a percentage to run the search. Djeli is not connected to Africa Prudential and holds no shareholder data. All registrars
