Unclaimed dividends in Nigeria
First Registrars: claiming unclaimed dividends
First Registrars & Investor Services Limited is a share registrar: it keeps the register of shareholders for the companies that appoint it, and pays their dividends. If the SEC's search names it as holding your account, this is how to reach it.

How to claim
- Confirm it is First Registrars: search the SEC's Non-Mandated Dividends Search ↗ by first name and surname. A result names the company and the registrar holding the account. It does not tell you an amount.
- Fill First Registrars's e-dividend mandate — its e-dividend page, which says the service is free of charge and the form must be stamped by your bank ↗.
- Submit it through your bank or the registrar, as the SEC's guidance ↗ says. That is what starts the payments coming to you directly.
- If you are told the dividends are too old, the SEC's circular of 5 June 2025 directs companies and registrars to keep honouring claims: cite it by name and date.
Check any firm on the SEC's register of licensed operators ↗ before giving it your details, and never pay anyone a percentage to run the search. Djeli is not connected to First Registrars and holds no shareholder data. All registrars
